Douglas sits at the center of one of the Southwest’s most distinctive gravel cycling landscapes.

Primitive roads stretch across open grasslands, desert valleys, historic ranch country and the rugged Sky Islands of Cochise County. Riders can climb from exposed desert terrain into shaded canyons, cross between Arizona and New Mexico and look south toward the mountains of Mexico.

This is gravel shaped by distance, history and the borderlands.

The roads are raw. The landscapes are immense. The experience feels far removed from the crowded routes and familiar cycling destinations found elsewhere in the Southwest.

Welcome to gravel cycling in Douglas.
